Pakistani students can win a fully funded MBA through a small number of schemes: Chevening (with a fee cap), Fulbright, Knight-Hennessy at Stanford, and three Oxford awards (Weidenfeld-Hoffmann, Pershing Square and Skoll). Most other MBA funding is partial and comes from the business school itself, usually after you are admitted. Here is what is open for 2027 entry, what each award pays and which deadlines are still ahead, as checked on the official pages on 17 October 2026.
Fully funded options that allow an MBA
Chevening is the UK government's scholarship for a one-year master's, and a one-year full-time MBA counts. The catch is a fee cap: Chevening pays up to £22,000 of MBA tuition and you cover the rest. Many UK MBAs cost more than that, so check the fee of each course before you choose it. You also need at least two years of work experience after your degree (2,800 hours) and must return to Pakistan for two years afterwards. The 2027-28 round has closed; the next round's dates are not published yet. The 2027-28 round opened in August 2026.
Fulbright, run by USEFP, funds Pakistani citizens for a master's in the US, and USEFP confirms an MBA is allowed if you have 16 years of education and at least two years of relevant work experience. It covers tuition, books, airfare, a living stipend and health insurance. Applicants take the GRE General Test (at least 145 in each section), and USEFP says you may be asked for the GMAT if selected. The last deadline was 1 April 2026; the next has not been announced.
Knight-Hennessy Scholars pays full tuition, a living stipend and travel for Stanford graduate study, including the Stanford GSB MBA, with no nationality limit. Your bachelor's must have been earned in January 2020 or later, and you must apply to the GSB in Round 1. The 2027 deadline (6 October 2026) has passed, so this is one to plan for 2028.
Three Oxford awards cover the Oxford MBA in full, each paying course fees and a living grant of at least £21,805:
- Weidenfeld-Hoffmann is mainly for people from developing and emerging economies. Pakistan is eligible and the MBA is on the 2027-28 course list. You need to show how your career could improve public life and intend to return home.
- Oxford-Pershing Square funds the 1+1 MBA (a one-year Oxford master's followed by the MBA). Five awards are offered, and the essay asks how you plan to change the world.
- Skoll is for social entrepreneurs with a real track record. Up to four are offered.
The Oxford MBA asks for IELTS 7.5 overall with 7.0 in each part (or the Cambridge equivalent), and it no longer accepts TOEFL for tests taken from 21 January 2026. It also needs a GMAT or GRE score and two years of full-time work experience.
Scholarships from the business schools
These are mostly partial, and most are decided at or after admission.
- HBS need-based scholarships: open to international students. Awards run from $2,000 to $87,000 a year, and students with the greatest need get full tuition. HBS says the average is about $100,000 over two years and roughly half of students receive one. You apply for aid after admission, with three years of income records.
- Wharton Fellowships: every admitted student is considered automatically, based on the main application. Amounts are not published.
- INSEAD: more than 170 scholarship funds, with an average award of €24,000. After you submit the MBA application, you can apply for up to four through the scholarship portal. INSEAD's Scholarship Finder lets you filter by Pakistan.
- HEC Paris: every admitted candidate is considered for the Excellence and Diversity scholarships, each worth up to 50% of tuition. Women can also be considered for Forté, 30% Club and Laidlaw awards (Laidlaw covers full tuition for up to 10 women per class, but not living costs).
- IE Business School: Direct Awards are given on merit at admission, and IE Awards worth 10% to 40% of tuition are based on merit and need. The International MBA asks for at least three years of work experience.
- Forté Fellowships: awarded by Forté member schools to admitted students who support women's advancement in business. Forté says all nationalities and genders are eligible. There is no separate Forté application, and amounts vary by school.
MBA funding in Pakistan
If you plan to study at home, two schools publish clear support.
LUMS offers need-based financial aid as an interest-free loan that can cover part or all of tuition. There is also a 50% first-year tuition waiver for admitted students with a GMAT of 700 or above (or an equivalent GRE), and a 50% waiver for women admitted on high merit. LUMS accepts the GMAT, GRE, LGAT or HAT-II.
IBA Karachi gives need-based bridge financing of 25% to 90% of tuition to students who can't pay through other options. New students can get it only at admission. You will need income tax returns for every earning family member and CNICs for everyone over 18, so start collecting them now.
Deadlines for 2027 entry
"Admission" means the business school's application deadline, which is also when you are considered for the scholarship. "Scholarship" means a separate scholarship deadline.

Note that the Weidenfeld-Hoffmann page doesn't give a date itself, so the 6 January 2027 date comes from the Oxford MBA stages. HEC Paris's 18 October 2026 round closed the day after we checked, so aim for a later round if you aren't ready.
Which scholarships don't fund an MBA
Students often ask about these, so it is worth being clear:
- Commonwealth Master's Scholarships (UK): Pakistan is eligible, but the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission says it does not fund MBA degrees.
- Erasmus Mundus: funds joint master's programmes, and we found no MBA in its catalogue.
- HEC Pakistan: we found no HEC scholarship that funds an MBA abroad.
We also couldn't confirm that Australia Awards or the Aga Khan Foundation scholarship cover an MBA, so ask them directly before you count on either.
Tips for a stronger application
Count your work experience carefully. Chevening, Fulbright and Oxford all ask for two years, IE's International MBA asks for three, and Chevening counts hours (2,800), not just years. Read how each scheme counts experience before you apply.
Choose your test with your scholarships in mind. Many schools accept the GMAT or the GRE, but Fulbright asks for the GRE. Our GMAT guide explains the format, free official prep and what scores like 655 mean. Plan your English test too: Oxford needs IELTS 7.5, and TOEFL is no longer accepted for its MBA.
Write essays that only you could write. Weidenfeld-Hoffmann asks how your work could improve public life, and Skoll wants evidence of social impact you have already made. Use real examples from your job or community and say what changed. If you need a starting point, read our guide to writing a motivation letter.
Apply early in the cycle. At HBS, Wharton, HEC Paris and IE, funding decisions come with or after the admission offer, so the admission deadline is effectively your scholarship deadline. HBS takes no applications after Round 2. If a school's ranking matters to you, our guide to the 2026 MBA rankings explains the FT and QS lists.
Your next step
Make a shortlist of three or four awards from this page, note which deadline applies to each, and book your GMAT or GRE so your score is ready in time. Use the eligibility checker to see what else you qualify for, or browse all scholarships. Deadlines and amounts change, so always confirm them on each scholarship's official page before you apply.
