Universite libre de Bruxelles (Belgium) with consortium partners (Erasmus+) · Multiple

DEAI is the new Erasmus Mundus Joint Master that succeeds BDMA (Big Data Management and Analytics), run by the same ULB-led consortium and selected for EU funding in 2025. Students spend semester 1 at ULB (Belgium) and semester 2 at UPC Barcelona (Spain), then specialise at TU Wien (Austria), University of Padova (Italy) or Universite Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (France), finishing with an industry or research thesis. It suits computer science graduates aiming for careers in data engineering, big data and AI.

Tips from successful applicants

  • BS Computer Science, Software Engineering or Data Science degrees from HEC-recognised Pakistani universities usually qualify; check that the university appears in WHED
  • Highlight database, SQL, Python, Spark/Hadoop, cloud and ML projects, FYP and internships in your CV and motivation letter
  • Electrical or telecom graduates without a computer science major may be rejected, so confirm eligibility first
  • Get transcripts HEC-attested early and keep scanned copies ready for the Belgian visa application
  • Note the deadline is at noon GMT (5 pm Pakistan time), not midnight
